Abstract
Objective: To examine the effects of a 6-week neuromuscular training program for chronic ankle instability(CAI) on ankle stability and balance.

Method: The players took part in a progressive 6-week dynamic neuromuscular training programme which incorporated postural stability, strengthening, plyometric. The outcome measures chosen to assess for interventional efficacy were: [1] Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool(CAIT) scores, [2] Star Excursion Balance Test(SEBT) reach distances.

Results: After 6 weeks of experimentation, the neuromuscular training showed more significant differences(p<.05) in Star Excurtion Balance Test(SEBT) for left anterior, left posteromedial, right posteromedial, right posterolateral and Ankle Instability Tool(CAIT) of right ankle.

Conclusion: It can be concluded that neuromuscular training is more effective in enhancing the dynamic balance of women basketball players with chronic ankle instability.
